About Dr. Jessica Dunkley

Dr. Jessica Dunkley is a family physician and senior dermatology resident at the University of BC.  She is the first deaf Metis physician in Canada.  She obtained her Bachelor of Sciences in Physical Therapy, Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Epidemiology from UBC.  She holds her Doctorate of Medicine from University of Ottawa. 

Dr. Dunkley is passionate about accessibility in academics and institutions, with first hand experience in customizing innovative accommodations in her medical education and advocates for many accomplished health care learners.  

She is currently a board member of a large telecommunications company, Canadian Administration of Video Relay Services for signed language users.  She is also sits on the CIHR external advisory committee on Accessibility and Systemic Ableism.

In her free time, she enjoys cycling and being in the outdoors with her daughter.
