Who Attends

The International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM) 2025, set to take place from April 3-6 in the vibrant city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, will attract a diverse group of more than 1,500 leading academics, researchers, healthcare professionals, learners, and patient partners.

Learners:

  • Medical students, residents and graduate students gather at ICAM to present their work, network and create connections with medical education and research mentors. Learner organizations also convene at and around ICAM, building on the momentum of in-person connections and thought-leadership.

Faculty:

  • A diverse community of scholars convenes at ICAM to discuss common themes and issues in academic medicine, to foster collaborations, and to collectively advance health education, research and leadership. Faculty members also present their work, network with peers from around the world, and explore innovations in medical education and health research.

Patients and Interprofessional Colleagues:

  • ICAM is proud to hold “Patient Included Status”, meaning that we are committed to incorporating the experience of patients as experts in living with their condition, and their carers, while ensuring they are neither excluded nor exploited in all aspects of the congress.
  • ICAM welcomes individuals from all health care backgrounds, regardless of their institutional position or medical expertise, who have a passion for improving the health of all.
