About Ms. Wenxuan (Wendy) Wang

Wendy is a MD/PhD student in the department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at Western University. She grew up in Calgary and completed her undergraduate studies at McGill University in Biochemistry. Under the supervision of Dr. Shawn Whitehead, her doctoral research studies how brain lipids regulate microglial activation in Alzheimer’s disease.

Wendy has been on the board of directors for the Clinician Investigator Trainee Association of Canada (CITAC) organization since 2021 and currently serves as the past president. In a collaborative effort with the AFMC, Wendy played an instrumental role in bringing the CSCI-CITAC Annual Joint Meeting to ICAM for the first time in 2024. She is passionate about improving the clinician-scientist training experience in Canada.
