Maxime Lê has been a patient partner in Ottawa, Ontario since 2017, advising on a variety of policy, quality improvement, and patient-oriented research projects. Since then, has become a board member of the national Patient Advisors Network and Co-Chair of the Ontario Health East Patient and Family Advisory Committee. Additionally, he has served as advisor on scientific and equity, diversity and inclusion committees for Canadian Institutes for Health Information, SAEGIS, and the Equity in Health Systems Lab.
Professionally, Maxime is founder and principal consultant of Lê & Co. Health Communication, a bilingual health communications firm that has helped a growing list of clients simplify how they communicate their work, translate research into accessible formats, and reach people that could benefit from their help. Otherwise, Maxime has enjoyed a career in public service, working in communications and policy roles during the COVID-19 pandemic at Ottawa Public Health and Mpox outbreaks nationally at the Public Health Agency of Canada, and helping researchers communicate about their work at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
He holds a Master of Arts degree in Communication, with specialization in science, society and public policy from the University of Ottawa, where he holds an Honor’s Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences as well. He has also obtained a certificate in climate change and health communication from Yale School of Public Health and a certificate of specialization in leadership and management from Harvard Business School Online.
