About Dr. Natasha Kekre

Dr. Natasha Kekre, MPH, MD, FRCPC, is an associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa with cross-appointment to the School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventative Medicine (SEPHPM). Transplant Physician/Hematologist in the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program within the Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital. She is also a scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute within the Clinical Epidemiology Program.

She has 2 main areas of research focus:

  1. Translational medicine, collaborating with lab scientists, students and technicians to bring bench-side research with oncolytic viruses, CAR-T cells and other immunotherapies to clinical trials for cancer patients and
  2. Clinical research focused on blood and marrow transplant and CAR-T therapy patients with hematologic malignancies. She is one of the founders/leaders of the made-in-Canada CAR-T program entitled CLIC (Canadian Led Immunotherapies for Cancer).
