How can we, as clinicians, educators and researchers, change our practices to better support learner success?

When we asked the ICAM Learner Experience Group, this is the question they wanted addressed.

On Sunday, April 16, a dedicated Learner Forum will consider this topic and learner organizations from Canada and around the world will bring forward their suggestions.

Join us as we learn from Julianah Oguntala representing the Black Medical Students’ Association of Canada (BMSAC) , Montana Hackett representing the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS), Victoria  Blouin representing the Fédération Médicale Étudiante du Québec (FMEQ), Kosha Gala representing the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), Frédérique Gauthier-Bisaillon representing the Indigenous Medical Students’ Association of Canada (IMSAC), Carl White Ulysse representing the Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC), Luisa Binder Graduate Student Representative, Université Laval and several other organizations. Dr. Geneviève Moineau, President and CEO of the AFMC, will moderate the session. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentations.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the perspective of learners regarding their needs.
  2. Engage with learners to better understand the learner lens.
  3. Reflect on how to change practices to support learner success.
