SYNOPSIS

This session will give participants an opportunity to learn about the multi-year project to update the CanMEDS 2015 framework with a summary of the progress so far and an understanding of how we plan to undertake the next phase of the CanMEDS Project. The goal of this session is to provide an update on the CanMEDS project. Using an interactive format, members of the CanMEDS Steering Committee will address the importance of CanMEDS in our current context, why we are updating the framework now, what we have achieved so far, what has worked well, and what are challenges. There will be ample time for interaction and questions from the audience.

At the end of this session, participants will:

1. Summarize the next phases of the CanMEDS Project;
2. Discuss the overall direction and priorities for the development of the next iteration of the CanMEDS competency framework.
