From Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

  • SkyTrain: Take the Canada Line SkyTrain to Vancouver City Centre Station, from there it’s a short taxi ride (approximately 10-15 minutes) to both the Hyatt Regency and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
  • By Taxi/Uber: Taxis and Uber services are readily available at the airport. The journey to both the Hyatt Regency and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Pacific Central Station (VIA Rail and Amtrak)

  • Address: Pacific Central Station, 1150 Station St, Vancouver, BC, V6A 4C7

We have compiled a series of frequently asked questions covering various topics. If you do not find an answer to your question below, please reach out to us at icam@afmc.ca.

The registration for our Congress is scheduled to open in late fall. To stay updated and gain access to the registration process, we recommend subscribing to our email communications. If you’re subscribed, we will notify you via email as soon as registration becomes available, ensuring you have the latest information.

Delegates who are in school full time such as medical/graduate/MD PhD/CIP/MD+ students, fellows, residents, postdoctoral scholars who are not employed full-time by an academic institution or organization qualify for the Learner/Community registration rate.

Members of the public that may have particular interests in areas of healthcare, who may or may not be currently involved in healthcare related improvement activities qualify for the Learner/Community registration rate.

Patient partners are patients who often have extensive lived experience in the healthcare system, that are actively involved in healthcare improvement, and are aware that they have this position would qualify for the Learner/Community registration rate.

Delegates who work in a medical facility or institution but are not a doctor or physician qualify for the Administrative Staff registration rate.

As a psychologist, you will be required to register under the “Registrant” category.

We are happy to provide a delegate visa letter confirming a delegate’s participation.

To begin generating a visa letter, we require the following information:

  1. Registration Confirmation Number
  2. Name of your Organization
  3. Professional Email Address
  4. Professional Title
  5. Phone Number

If you are a student, we will require the following additional information:

  1. Name of Institution
  2. Student ID (including photo ID, student ID Number)

Upon receiving your request with all the required information, it will take 7-10 business days for the review committee to review your application and provide you with their decision. 

All participants are required to register and pay registration fees to attend ICAM. All delegates are responsible for their travel.

ICAM 2025 is scheduled to take place at the Halifax Convention Centre in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, from April 3-6, 2025.

You may notice that in our French communications, we do not translate “Patients Included” as it is an official status that formally recognizes conferences that adhere to the conference charter clause. No approved official translation of the “Patients Included” status currently exists for our French communications. When promoting “Patients Included” in French, we will keep the official name and logo in English; however, all other communication will remain in French.

ICAM Registration Cancellation

Requests for cancellations must be submitted in writing to icam@afmc.ca by February 29, 2024, to be reimbursed 75% of the registration fee.  No refunds are issued after March 1, 2024.  Please note that there is a processing time for all written cancellation and reimbursement requests.

ICAM Programming Changes

ICAM reserves the right to change, adapt, reschedule and/or cancel programs, including but not limited to switching to a virtual conference or hybrid event format. Modifications to ICAM programming will be notified to participants as soon as is practicable in the circumstances.

Force Majeure


ICAM shall have no liability whatsoever if any of our events or programs are delayed, changed, or cancelled at any time due to strikes, lockouts, accidents, fires, floods, severe weather, acts of God, healthcare crisis, epidemics and pandemics as a result of viral or bacterial illnesses, forced shut-downs, emergencies, war, riots, terrorist attacks, any actions constituting a “force majeure,” or any other causes or delays beyond ICAM’s reasonable control, whether similar to or different from the causes above enumerated.
