Accreditation

This activity constitutes a recognized professional development activity (category A) as defined by the Collège des médecins du Québec for which Pédagogia of the Laval University Faculty of Medicine recognizes a maximum of 21 hours in Category A.

This activity constitutes an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program (MCP) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; it has been approved by Pédagogia of the Laval University Faculty of Medicine for a maximum of 21 hours in section 1.

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning Program meets the certification criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada. It has received certification from Pédagogia of the Laval University Faculty of Medicine and entitles you to up to 21 Mainpro+ credits in Group Learning.

For any other professional, this activity gives a certificate of 2.1 UEC or 21 hours of participation. Participants must claim from their respective professionnal order a number of hours consistent with the duration of their participation.

  • Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association (AMA), physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The surge of overdoses and opioid-related deaths in Canada is a national public health crisis. The Government of Canada has funded the AFMC, in partnership with Canada’s 17 medical schools, to create a national, bilingual, comprehensive, and competency-based curriculum for undergraduate medical students in pain management and substance use. The evidence-based training aims to fill gaps in undergraduate educational programs across Canada, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pain. The AFMC will also develop a repository of questions and oral practical structured clinical examinations, which will be included in the national licensing examinations of physicians in Canada.
